This KVM allows you to independently lock the focus of USB 3.0 and L/R audio – so that headsets, webcams or external drives remain connected to the current PC, even during screen switching.

To improve keyboard and mouse compatibility – especially when switching hotkeys – we have developed two special connection modes:
• Pass-through mode (recommended)
Direct routing to the PC. Supports advanced drivers, macros, high-DPI mice, and multifunctional input devices. Ideal for gaming, design, and professional workflows.
• Legacy emulation mode
Ensures universal compatibility and stable hotkey functionality on most systems. Best suited for office use or when experiencing driver issues.
✅ Hotkey commands only work when your keyboard is connected to the dedicated K&M port.
⚠️ In emulation mode, driver-based software and advanced features are disabled.
⚠️ Bluetooth keyboards and mice are not supported.
⚠️ Legacy emulation mode is available via firmware update (Prime-23 series).
FAQs
Why can't my computer use Wi-Fi anymore after connecting it to the KVM switch?
The KVM switch has an integrated network card that is enabled by default. Computers may prioritize the wired connection. If you want to use Wi-Fi instead of the KVM's wired connection, you can: Disable the KVM's integrated network card: Press [Right Ctrl] → [Right Ctrl] → [F4] to turn off the integrated network card. Note: A buzzer will sound twice when enabling and once when disabling. Disable the USB network adapter in computer settings (example: Windows 11): Method 1: Advanced network settings - Press [Win + I] to open Windows Settings. Go to Network & Internet → Advanced network settings. In the list, locate the adapter named Realtek USB GbE Family Controller. Click Disable. Method 2: Device Manager - Press [Win + X] and select Device Manager. Expand Network adapters and locate Realtek USB GbE Family Controller. Right-click and select Disable device.
How can I use my keyboard and mouse between different computers?
In Display Mode 2 (i.e., when three monitors display different computer screens), the keyboard/mouse focus can be switched independently to control different computers. The KVM switch's LCD displays the current status in real time: The leftmost number indicates which computer the keyboard/mouse focus is currently on (e.g., "1" for PC1, "2" for PC2). Hotkey switching: Press [Right Alt] → [Right Alt] to switch the keyboard/mouse focus between different computers. Tip: Switching the keyboard/mouse focus does not affect the video display; the video layout remains configured as in Display Mode 2.
Could switching settings cause the host computer's resolution to be reset or Windows to rearrange the windows?
No. The HDK403-P23 has an EDID emulator that prevents loss of resolution or refresh rate and avoids the reorganization of windows when switching between computers.
Does this KVM support my 4K@144Hz or 8K monitor?
No. The HDK403-P23 supports HDMI 2.0 with a maximum resolution of 4K (2160p)@60Hz and is backward compatible with 2K (1440p)@60Hz/120Hz.
Does the KVM support both Mac and Windows environments?
Yes. The HDK403-P23 is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Unix, and Linux-based systems such as Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Raspbian (including support for Raspberry Pi). It works in mixed operating system environments without additional configuration.
Why aren't my USB peripherals working?
Connection requirements: The KVM switch uses the USB-B ports of PC1/2/3/4 for data transfer. Ensure that the computers' USB 3.0 ports are securely connected to the corresponding USB-B ports on the KVM switch. Port restrictions: USB ports with keyboard/mouse symbols are reserved exclusively for those devices. Bandwidth limitations: The KVM switch functions as a USB hub. Power supply issues: Connect high-power USB devices directly to your PC whenever possible, or use a powered USB hub. USB hub cascading limitations: The USB architecture supports a maximum of 7 cascading levels. Recommended solutions: Avoid docking stations and minimize cascading.
Why isn't my audio device working?
Connection requirements: The KVM switch's audio functionality relies on the USB-B ports of PC1/2/3/4. Ensure all computers are securely connected to the corresponding USB-B ports on the KVM switch. Computer sound settings: For a 3.5 mm jack connection, select 'USB Audio' as the default output device in your computer's sound settings. For a USB 3.0 connection, select the corresponding USB audio output. If no sound is output via the 3.5 mm jack even after correct configuration, we recommend using a USB sound card (USB-to-3.5 mm adapter).
Why aren't my keyboard and mouse working properly?
Common symptoms: Keyboard input is unresponsive or delayed; keystrokes are stuck or double-registered; mouse movements are jerky or laggy; keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) do not work. Recommended solutions: Try switching to Legacy Emulation Mode to improve compatibility with a wider range of keyboards and mice: Press [Right Ctrl] + [Right Ctrl] + [F2].
