Why CKS201-M23?

Overview

01

Stable performance at 8K60

ADV-7674 decoding and EDID emulation ensure stable HDMI 2.1 output at high bandwidth – for 8K content, detailed work and gaming with high refresh rates.

02

4K with high refresh rate

Supports 4K120 HDR with 12-bit color depth and up to 4K144/165 via DSC. VRR, FVA, and ALLM ensure smooth visuals and low latency. Laptop, monitor, and cable must support the selected format.

03

The right resolution for details and speed

Up to 8K60, 5120×1440 at 120 Hz, 4K240 via DSC, 3440×1440 at 144 Hz, and 1440p or 1080p at 240 Hz. Actual output depends on the computer, USB-C video output, display, and cables.

04

Leave USB and audio on the desired computer

Disable Follow Mode if you want a drive, headset, or other device to remain connected to one computer while switching the display, keyboard, or mouse to another.

05

Your windows stay in place

EDID emulation keeps the display information available for both computers. This helps preserve window positions and reduces flickering, black screens, and desktop reorganization when switching between computers.

Data & Support

Compatibility & Connections

[Compatibility] Which operating systems are supported?

According to the instructions, Unix, Windows, macOS and Linux are supported, including Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and Raspbian for Raspberry Pi.

[Compatibility] What resolutions and refresh rates are possible?

Up to 8K60, 4K120, 4K144 and via DSC up to 4K165. Computer, USB-C port, monitor and cable must support the selected format.

[Functions] What does EDID emulation do?

EDID emulation keeps the display information available for both computers. It helps to preserve window positions and reduce flickering, black screens, and desktop reorganization when switching between computers.

[Functions] Which video and gaming features are supported?

HDMI 2.1 output, DSC, VRR, FVA, and ALLM. Specific functions depend on the laptop's graphics, USB-C video output, monitor, and cable.

[Connections] Which devices can both computers share?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports connect compatible storage devices, printers, and other devices at speeds of up to 5 Gbps. Both computers can also share the 3.5 mm audio/microphone jack and Gigabit Ethernet.

[Connections] Can both laptops be charged via the rear USB-C ports?

Yes, both inputs support up to 60W USB-C PD. The laptop must support the required charging protocol. With incompatible 20V charging, the power output may drop to 7.5W.
