FAQs
Could switching settings cause the host computer's resolution to be reset or Windows to rearrange the windows?
No. The DKS202-M24 has an EDID emulator that prevents the resolution or refresh rate from being lost and avoids the reorganization of windows when switching between computers.
Can I display two computers simultaneously on two monitors while maintaining extended desktop mode?
Yes. The device supports two display modes:
Mode 1: A single computer is displayed on both monitors.
Mode 2: Two computers are displayed separately on two monitors, with each maintaining its extended desktop mode.
Can this KVM switch support my 4K@144Hz or 8K monitor?
Yes. The DKS202-M24 supports DisplayPort 1.4 and resolutions up to 8K (4320p) @60Hz. It is also backward compatible with 4K (2160p) @60/120/144Hz.
Why can't my computer access the network?
Connection requirements
- The KVM switch's network adapter requires a USB connection. Please ensure that your computer's USB-A port is firmly connected to the USB-B port on the KVM switch.
- Make sure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the LAN port of the KVM switch before turning it on.
Activate integrated network function
The KVM switch's network adapter must be enabled to function. You can turn it on or off using the following hotkey combination: [Right Ctrl] + [Right Ctrl] + [F4].
Note: The buzzer sounds twice when activated and once when deactivated.
How can I switch USB peripherals or audio devices independently?
By default, the KVM operates in follow mode, meaning that connected USB 3.0 devices and audio devices are automatically switched with the keyboard/mouse focus.
- Disable follow mode:
Press [Right Ctrl] → [Right Ctrl] → [ ~ ] to toggle follow mode.
Note: The buzzer sounds twice when activated and once when deactivated. - Switch USB 3.0 and audio focus independently:
After disabling Follow mode, you can use [Right Ctrl] → [Right Ctrl] → [0] to synchronously switch the USB 3.0 and audio device focus between the two computers.
Does the KVM switch support firmware updates?
Yes, TESmart KVM switches support official firmware updates designed to fix common problems and improve compatibility.
Important NOTE:
Firmware updates carry inherent risks. Installing the wrong version or performing the process incorrectly can lead to device malfunctions. Therefore, it is strongly advised against performing a firmware update yourself if your device is functioning normally.

Why aren't my keyboard and mouse working properly?
Common symptoms:
- Keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) do not work;
- Keyboard input is unresponsive or delayed;
- Keystrokes get stuck or are registered twice;
- Mouse movements are jerky or laggy.
Recommended solutions:
- Try switching to Legacy Emulation mode to improve compatibility with a wider range of keyboards and mice: Press [Right Ctrl] + [Right Ctrl] + [F2].
